Overview
Michael focuses his practice in the areas of real estate finance and development. He represents finance companies and private developers in commercial lending transactions, acquisitions, and development of commercial and multi-family properties. Michael has significant experience with FHA-insured financing programs, including Sections 221(d)(4), 223(a)(7), 223(f) and 241(a) of the National Housing Act. Michael also represents banks in connection with short-term loans intended to be refinanced with long-term permanent loans to ensure that projects comply with programmatic requirements of the applicable permanent financing. In 2017, Michael represented lenders in connection with transactions with an aggregate monetary value of approximately $250 million, an increase from $150 million in 2016.
